Essential Functions:

  • Carries out Transportation Department training and driver evaluations to verify all drivers meet both the safety and company standards
  • Regularly completes safety audits of all trucks in fleet and communicates findings in a timely manner
  • Review all driver pre-trip truck inspections to log and communicate with Transportation Supervisor to advise of serious issues needing immediate attention
  • Oversight and enforcement of the milk crate recovery inventory control program for the facility
  • Capability to drive a truck to support delivery drivers as needed for runbacks, call offs, or driver assistance Knowledge of all delivery locations to effectively route and maintain all routes
  •  Efficiently route trucks and adjust according to volume on assigned days
  •  Enforces all Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) safety regulations and ensures compliance
  • Double check and verify product for high priority TLC accounts and special situations as required
  • Job knowledge and ability to recognize problems or issues throughout the shift and take corrective action as needed
  •  Operate with a sense of urgency and purpose to ensure proactive problem solving and prioritization of work tasks
  •  Ability to thoroughly and concisely communicate with appropriate departments as needed
  • Competence to handle multiple tasks and prioritize for successful operation of Day Warehouse regarding market pick-ups and transfers
  • Assist Transportation Department roles for support as needed
  • Follows all handling and reporting procedures for allergens
  • Efficiently handle products with proper care to prevent damage and waste
  • Safely operates equipment during process of delivery and moving product products
  •  Participates in maintaining a safe work environment, always using safe lifting, pushing, pulling, and reaching practices and following safety procedures
  •  Uses, cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and keeps work and storage areas orderly to ensure compliance with company sanitation and safety regulations
  • Other responsibilities, duties, and projects as assigned

Other Essential Functions:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent. Associate’s degree in Logistics or a related field preferred
  • Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and common e-mail systems
  • Experience in the food distribution industry is a plus
  • No CDL certification required, box truck experience preferred
  • Capability to drive a truck to support delivery drivers as needed for runbacks, call-offs, or driver assistance
  • Knowledge of all delivery locations to effectively route and maintain all routes
  • Successfully able to pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical 

Physical Demands:

  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
  • Work in cold and wet cooler environments for extended periods
  • Delivery driver on route all day, working outdoors, will be faced with seasonal changes     
  • Will be required to regularly enter and exit vehicle, pull down ramp and push/lift product for delivery on customer premises

Schedule:

  • 1st shift Monday thru Saturday

Compensation:

  • Starting Pay $18.00/hour
